Riwo Sangchö

The smoke offering Riwo Sangchö is traditionally practiced in the morning. Burning incense, accompanied by meditation, prayer, and chanting, brings harmony, peace, and blessings.

During the practice, fragrant smoke from burning sacred substances is offered to the Three Jewels, enlightened deities, protectors, local spirits, and all beings.

The ritual serves to:

  • Purify karmic obscurations and negativities,
  • Heal disturbances caused by unseen beings,
  • Restore harmony in the environment,
  • Accumulate merit and wisdom for Dharma practice.

The Medicine Buddha (Bhaisajyaguru) is invoked within or alongside Riwo Sangchö. His healing blessings are understood to permeate the smoke, making it not only an offering but also a healing and protective ritual for practitioners, communities, and the natural world.

Those interested are kindly asked to arrive at 9:00 a.m. for their first participation. This ensures a personal introduction to the ritual as well as the arrangement of the seating place.

We kindly ask for a donation for Pema Chöling.
